The foundation of our vision is based on 1 Samuel 16:7. "But the Lord said unto Samuel, look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart". Just as the word of God never changes, the foundation of our vision will never change: however, we will always be open to expanding and adjusting our vision so that we will continually stay in God's will. Our vision is simple. We are to have a heart like David, a man after God's own heart. We are to accept all people; rich, poor, young, old, male or female. We are to accept those no one else will accept. We are to accept and love everyone unconditionally and with a heart full of grace and mercy, just as God loves each of us. We are to lead our friends and family into the kingdom of God by accepting them with all of their faults and baggage, recognizing that no one is perfect, not even David, but that everyone is a child of God and worthy of His love and therefore worthy of our love. We are to teach and disciple Christians, just as Jesus did.. through God's word and by example. God has given us visions of property being filled with people; our family, and friends, people from within our community, people from outside of our community and especially young people. It is our mission to fulfill this vision that God has placed within us.
Born 1964, the daughter of a Pentecostal preacher man ... Rev. Ottis Penny and Delphia in Beulaville, NC. Kem ended up living in Faro, NC, with her father pastoring Faro Chapel PFWB and eventually married Glenn E. Lancaster on January, 1988. They have two sons, Andrew and Aaron. Kem was ordained through Potters Wheel Ministries, Inc., a Christ centered solution to addiction, where Glenn entered in 1999 for rehabilitation. Upon Glenn's completion of the residential program, they both then completed a 18 month Family Recovery Substance Abuse Training Program. July 2000, after searching for a church to call home, they had church one Sunday in their living room with other family and friends which was the beginning of Heart of David Ministries, Inc.. Kem became Senior Pastor of Heart of David Ministries, August, 2006. She and her husband Glenn have a passion for those struggling with addiction and also for their family and friends. Kem's focus in ministry has always been giving hope to the hopeless, sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, teaching and preaching the word, speaking words of truth and knowledge for encouragement and edification, and ministering through prayer of faith for healing. Her many testimonies of God's miracles are powerful. God delivered her husband from addiction, repaired and restored their broken marriage, and healed Kem's body from a bout of sarcoidosis lung disease in 1992 and late stage rectal cancer in 2008.
